Texas

Texas Quarter

We made a short weekend trip to Dallas. We met up with some friends, who also adopted a girl from China, to go to the Ft. Worth Zoo. We've heard about how nice the zoo is, and finally got to see it. Here's a picture I took of the zebras.

When we get our girls together, we like to take lots of pictures of them. Here's one we took of them in their strollers.

We spent our Texas quarter in a penny smasher we found at the zoo. Here's a picture of Shawn and Alyssa in front of it.

I also snapped a picture of our smashed penny.

The Reason For This Blog

I've collected several sets of state quarters during the 10 years they were being minted, here in the United States. One complete set was collected, so that me and Shawn could visit each state, spending that state's quarter while we are there. It may take us a while to get to all 50 states, but I'm pretty sure we'll eventually accomplish this. I've had this set completed for a while now, but we have a couple of trips planned in the near future. We're planning on going to Dallas during the Easter weekend. We're also planning a trip to Atlanta in July, as part of a reunion with the families who traveled with us to China to adopt our daughter Alyssa. This trip should take us through Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Of course, being from Oklahoma, we will have plenty of opportunities to spend our Oklahoma quarter. I plan on posting pictures of each quarter and the locations that we spend them at, as well as stories and pictures from our travels. It should be an adventure that takes us a while to accomplish.
